Personally, I am not really following the exact guidelines of Clean Eating because I have a meat and potato loving man at home that doesn't like veggies much and is veryyyy picky! (maybe some of you can relate?!) I am, however, making small changes to the dinners I cook and snacks I have available in our house.
What steps am I taking?
1. I have started making trips to markets that have better produce and healthier options so it is easy and appealing to snack healthy! -side note something about just walking into Wholefoods makes me want to make healthier choices- is anybody with me on this one?!
2. I am changing my mindset on what I pin. Pinterest is where I go to for tons of meal ideas- If I mostly pin junk food it a) makes me want to eat junk food and b) are the recipes I end up making
3. I am reminding myself of how much better I feel when I eat wholesome food verse junk! I literally have post-it notes on my desk with reminders of why I am starting to seriously think about what I eat before I eat it!
Practical Ideas-
This week at the grocery store I got {this verses that}
- Tons of Grapes -not candy
- Strawberries -not candy
- Teas-instead of pop (plus I am drinking TONS of water)
- Whole Wheat Pitas-not white bread
- hummus -instead of unhealthy chip dips
- pita chips- instead of lays chips
- guacamole- just because I love it
I hope this list inspires you to switch out a couple unhealthy items on your grocery list for better ones!
What changes are you trying to make for you and your family when it comes to eating habits? I would love to hear from you :)
